In this oil painting, I've brought together the rich history of Jacobs and the iconic imagery of determination and unity. Drawing inspiration from the famous photograph "Lunch atop a Skyscraper," which captured the spirit of ironworkers on the 69th floor of the Rockefeller Center, I've reimagined the scene with a distinctly Irish twist. Here, four men from Waterford stand proudly atop a towering steel beam, their hands holding aloft a box of Jacobs Cream Crackers. It's a tribute to the enduring legacy of Jacobs Cream Crackers in Irish homes for over 150 years, a testament to the dreams of its founders, William and Robert Jacob. This painting not only celebrates the brand but also the spirit of achievement and camaraderie that has made Jacobs Cream Crackers a household name in Ireland.
Oil on Canvas, 44cm(h) x 54cm(w), framed with glass.
This painting will be exhibited at the Dingle Food Festival as part of the Iconic Irish Brands Series Sept. 29 - Sept. 30th 2023.
